I’ve been obsessed with Golden Goose Deluxe Brand for a while. They were founded in 2000 after the collaboration between Francesca Rinaldo and Alessandro Gallo in Italy. As time went on, they have grown into a major designer brand with flagship stores worldwide, and it’s one that fashion fans can’t resist.

I’ve followed Golden Goose for ages and I would often look through what FarFetch had, as they always had an curated selection, but I never ended up getting any because I always felt the price was too high and looked too similar to Converse, so they were always saved for later. A couple of years ago, Adam was the one who originally loved the brand and he actually got his first pair of their Superstar sneakers last year, which was what inspired me to look into them more. Having seen his in person and seeing how each pair of their shoes is completely unique because they’re artisanal, I was totally into it. As the Golden Goose Superstar sneakers are pre-distressed and made to appear vintage, they are all hand done so there’s no two pairs alike. Some have much more abrasions and dirt than others, so there’s a whole spectrum.

If you’re choosing in person, it might be a good idea to compare several options and select from them, but if you’re ordering online, you have to trust the surprise!The pair of sneakers that I was first obsessed with are the ones above in the main image, as they’ve been on the market forever, but I never ended up purchasing them.

I actually ended up getting the Shopbop-exclusive silver pair, and they’re a pair I have used occasionally (see here and my Golden Goose review here). I genuinely adore them! I bought another pair in the same model and customized them with dark laces + a burgundy detail, so they’re really fresh! I also own a pair of velvet burgundy Golden gold sneakers Goose, and two pairs of high-cut styles! I do definitely want a new black version, but I have a pair of Converse in black canvas, so I’m not sure I should double up, even though they’re different.
